Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Q.  What do I do if I have found a stray cat or kitten?

A.  Cat rescue organizations are not legally allowed to pick up stray cats or kittens.  If you have found a stray cat or kitten outside of Butts County please contact your local animal shelter.  If you have found a stray cat or kitten, please provide the following information so that we can point you in the right direction for assistance.

a. Full name, address and phone number of the person who found the cat/kitten.

b. Address of where the cat/kitten was found.

c. Provide a picture of the found cat/kitten along with approximate age.

d. Date found, how long you have been caring for the cat/kitten.

e. What efforts have been made to locate owner in the area found.

f. if bottle babies, please indicate what efforts have been made to locate the mother, how long it has been since an adult cat has been seen.

Many shelters and rescues stay at or above capacity.  If you are unable to find assistance in taking in stray cats or kittens, we strongly recommend TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) or using the many low cost options available in our area.

Q.  Does Klassy Kats work for Butts County Animal Control?

A.  No, we are an all-volunteer cat rescue organization and will pull from Animal Control facilities once the "stray holds" are complete, or as owner surrender's.  We are completely foster based, and do not have a facility of our own.

Q.  Does Klassy Kats take "owner surrenders"?

A. Unfortunately our foster homes are all full at this time.  We are a small foster-based all volunteer rescue in Butts County and don't have a facility.  If you are a Butts County resident, Butts County Animal Control sometimes takes in owner surrenders, but they may request a surrender fee.

Q. Do you need information regarding low cost spaying and neutering?

Q.  Does Klassy Kats provide veterinary care?

A. Klassy Kats does not have a veterinarian on staff, and does not provide veterinary care outside of fosters currently under our organization.  If you are seeking veterinary care, we recommend Lake Dow or Locust Grove veterinary offices.
